Daisy Batista, M.D., a gastroenterologist at Mayo Clinic specializing in the care and evaluation of patients with IBD, discusses two recent studies published in Gastroenterology that found early administration of azathioprine in Crohn’s disease patients was no more effective than standard care or placebo for achieving sustained corticosteroid-free remission.
